I did a ton of research on cutting boards and after all of the reading that I did, I knew what I wanted. Between walnut, maple and cherry, I really liked the walnut coloring but the walnut boards that I found in the size that I wanted were really nice but very expensive. I kept looking and stumbled across this company, CONSDAN from Burkeville, VA. This board had no reviews on Amazon when I first saw it. I went to their website and read all about them and their wood products. With no reviews or recommendations on this walnut board, it became a leap of faith when I decided to buy it. OMG! What a beautiful walnut cutting board and so reasonably priced! The packaging was incredibly impressive and the board is everything I hoped it would be! At 20"x15"x1-1/2", it is heavy-duty, smooth, and richly grained on both sides! It was beautifully finished and arrived pre-seasoned with mineral oil. I've used this several times already and I absolutely LOVE IT! I'm in Richmond, VA so the fact that this comes from a Virginia company is a huge plus for me! I highly recommend this cutting board! You won't be disappointed.
These are very heavy and made with care. I only use them to protect the top surface of a kitchen cabinet from scratches and damage, so I cannot say how they hold up against knives but they are beautiful and work excellently for my purpose. Would make an impressive gift due to the superior finish and heavy feel!
